candidate Jim Sullivan raised almost three times as much
as Republican State Sen. Tom Reynolds during the reporting
period that ended June 30, according to campaign finance
statements the candidates filed with the State Elections
Board.
The
two are vying to represent the 5th Senate District, which
includes Story Hill.
Sullivan,
a lawyer and Wauwatosa alderman, raised $86,752 during the
reporting period. Reynolds, a first-termer in the State
Senate, raised $30,620. Reynolds, a West Allis printer,
contributed $6,106 of the total his campaign raised. He
made the donation on June 30, the last day of the reporting

Sullivan
Sullivan

period, according to the report.
Reynolds
is an extreme conservative who reportedly asks potential
employees if they will remain virgins until they are married.
He generally ignores the Milwaukee portion of his district.
Sullivan
said most 5th District constituents are more concerned about
issues like health care and economic development. He said
he is winning support from "people who are being marginalized
by Tom Reynolds' extremist politics."

Reynolds listed 367contributions from individuals totaling

Feb.
13, 2006 -- Republican State Sen. Tom
Reynolds has more than twice as much money available for
campaigning than Democratic challenger Jim Sullivan does,
campaign finance records show.
Reynolds, of
West Allis, has $35,553 available in his campaign fund,
while Sullivan, of Wauwatosa, has $15,809 in his campaign
account, according to the records.

Reynolds
The two are
competing to represent the 5th Senate District, which
includes Story Hill.
Reynolds, a
printer, is considered on the right, right, right fringe
of the Republican party. Sullivan, a lawyer and a Wauwatosa
alderman, is viewed as a moderate Democrat.
Reynolds, with
a donation of $1,546.30, was his own biggest donor in
the reporting period that ended Dec. 31. Members of the
Zignego family, which runs road-building and concrete
companies, donated $1,350 during that period, the records
show.
Sullivan's
largest donation -- $600 -- came from Meghan Sullivan,
a psychologist.

Sullivan
Sullivan also
received donations from committees -- $200 from the American
Federation of Teachers, $200 from the Sheet Metal Workers
Local 18, and $250 from the Kevin Ronnie for School Board
committee.
Reynolds received
$1,000 from the Wisconsin Hospitals Political Action Committee
and the same amount from the Wisconsin Dental Political
Action Committee.
