April
30, 2007 -- A family of red foxes is nesting
under a shed in a neighborhood yard, Pete Schmidt reports.
"The
red fox is a lean mean hunting machine that’s built
for speed," according to the State
Department of Natural Resources.
Foxes
like to eat mice, rabbits and squirrels, but aren't fussy
and will scarf down vegetables and fruit as well.
Young
foxes start hunting with the folks at about three months,
and move into their own places when they are seven to
eight months old.
