rocks in Story Hill
Sept.
19 -- State Sen. Gwendolynne Moore won
55% of the votes cast in Story Hill in the three-way
Democratic primary for the 4th Congressional District
seat, according to election returns.
Moore
received 124 votes in ward 282, which includes
Story Hill. Flynn trailed with 80 votes, and State
Sen. Tim Carpenter limped in last with 20.
Districtwide,
Moore ran away with the race by a margin even
bigger than she got in Story Hill. She received
48,757 votes throughout the district, or 65% of
the total. Flynn trailed with 19,177 (25%) and
Carpenter received 7,810 (10%).
In
the Republican primary, Cory Hoze finished first
in Story Hill, with 60 votes (55%). Gerald Boyle
finished second with 49 votes (45%).
Boyle,
though won where it counts -- in the entire 4th
Congressional District. He received 11,616 (53%)
votes to Boyle's 10,489 (47%).
Moore's
margin of victory makes her the very likely winner
in the November general election.
