Moore rocks in Story Hill

Sept. 19 -- State Sen. Gwendolynne Moore won 55% of the votes cast in Story Hill in the three-way Democratic primary for the 4th Congressional District seat, according to election returns.

Moore received 124 votes in ward 282, which includes Story Hill. Flynn trailed with 80 votes, and State Sen. Tim Carpenter limped in last with 20.

Districtwide, Moore ran away with the race by a margin even bigger than she got in Story Hill. She received 48,757 votes throughout the district, or 65% of the total. Flynn trailed with 19,177 (25%) and Carpenter received 7,810 (10%).

In the Republican primary, Cory Hoze finished first in Story Hill, with 60 votes (55%). Gerald Boyle finished second with 49 votes (45%).

Boyle, though won where it counts -- in the entire 4th Congressional District. He received 11,616 (53%) votes to Boyle's 10,489 (47%).

Moore's margin of victory makes her the very likely winner in the November general election.
