Don't call them "24-hour establishments"

July 11, 2005 -- "24-hour establishments" don't exist in Milwaukee any more.

They are now "extended hour establishments."

The Common Council changed the name last week, and the new moniker applies to any convenience store, filling station, restaurant, or personal service establishment open at any time from midnight to 5 a.m.
